Dear Trade Partner,

Today, April 20, British Airways’ owner, IAG takes ownership of bmi mainline, giving customers access to more destinations, better frequencies and more seats. It also means new routes and new, more convenient schedules in the future and new reciprocal frequent flyer benefits for British Airways Executive Club and bmi Diamond Club members.

It is business as usual for both bmi mainline and British Airways, so customers can continue to book and fly with confidence. We plan to operate bmi’s London Heathrow summer schedule and their flights remain available for sale through the GDSs.

We are proposing to integrate bmi into British Airways, subject to the outcome of consultation with staff and unions, which began last week.

We aim to make the transition as smooth as possible and you will have an important role to play in assisting customers. We’ll keep you up-to-date with our progress and will provide the latest information on speedbirdclub.com.

As a result of the sale of bmi, a number of reciprocal benefits for British Airways Executive Club members and bmi Diamond Club members will be introduced, with effect from today:

• Executive Club members can earn Avios and Tier Points and Diamond Club members will be able to destinations miles on both British Airways flights and bmi flights, for flights taken from 20 April 2012 and we will introduce shortly the option to spend Avios and destinations miles across both airlines

• From today, Executive Club and Diamond Club Gold and Silver members will be able to access both British Airways and bmi lounges at London Heathrow and London Gatwick, when flying with bmi or British Airways – members should present their Executive Club or Diamond Club Gold or Silver card on arrival to gain access

• British Airways will extend an invitation to Diamond Club members to join the British Airways Executive Club at an equivalent tier status level

• Reciprocal transfer of Avios or destinations miles at a rate of 1:1

An online tool will be created that will allow Executive Club and Diamond Club customers to undertake transfers, that will be available from 3 July 2012. Further information will be made available closer to the date.

Yours faithfully,

British Airways
