SEATTLE, Aug. 08, 2006 -- Boeing [NYSE: BA] today unveiled the new 737-900ER (Extended Range) airplane before thousands of employees and guests at the company's Renton, Wash., manufacturing facility. Indonesian dancers escorted the newest member of the Next-Generation 737 airplane family along the south shores of Lake Washington as employees and 737 supplier representatives, local and Indonesian government officials and Indonesian launch customer, Lion Air, looked on. The first 737-900ER will be delivered to Lion Air in the spring of 2007, following a five-month flight test program.

Vždyť se to psalo na různých serverech. A nemá to být přímo přes Boeing, ale nějakou leasingovku. Mluvilo se o 5 letadlech -800 a -900ER.Pan Am píše:Obávám se, že objednaného nic nemají, alespoň na Boeingu nic není... 737-900ER neobjednal ani žádný skrytý zákazník.American píše:Doufejme, že ho TVS skutečně získá. On 20 February 2006, New Delhi-based SpiceJet announced its intention to execute an option on 10 Next Generation Boeing 737 airplanes. The contract option included five Boeing 737-800s and five 737-900ER plus another 10 options.
On 29 March 2006 General Electric Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) placed an order with Boeing for 30 firm and 30 option Boeing Next-Generation 737 valued approximately at $4 billion. The firm aircraft were set to be delivered to GECAS between 2008 through 2010. This contract included the Boeing 737-900ER and 737-800 models powered by CFM56-7B engines valued at $400 million.
On June 8, 2006, Turkish carrier Sky Airlines and Boeing announced an order for three 737-900ER airplanes fitted with advanced technology blended winglets. The aircraft were valued at $226 million at list prices with deliveries projected to begin in the first quarter of 2009.
On 17 July 2006, Jakarta-based Lion Air exercised its purchase rights on 30 additional Boeing 737-900ER airliners. These aircraft were valued at more than $2.2 billion. Deliveries were scheduled to begin in early 2010 and continue through 2012. This announcement was made public at the Farnborough Air Show in England.
On June 6, 2006, Boeing and Continental Airlines announced an agreement for the purchase of 10 Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners and an undisclosed mix of 24 Next-Generation 737 airplanes. All in, the aircraft deal was valued at $3 billion at list prices. Boeing 787 deliveries to Continental were scheduled to commence in 2009 and 737 deliveries in 2008. On 3 August 2006, Boeing and Continental Airlines agreed on conversion of 12 737 firm order aircraft into the Boeing 737-900ER. Continental's first 737-900ER was scheduled for delivery in 2008.
