Lufthansa to end turboprop services

Lufthansa is ending turboprop services Oct. 26 with Italian subsidiary Air Dolomiti’s final ATR 72-500 flight from Munich to Triest, Italy, as the German-based carrier moves ahead with its restructuring program SCORE. Lufthansa said it is important to consolidate its European fleet.

Lufthansa regional carriers will operate Embraer E-190/195s and Bombardier CRJ700/900s.

Also leaving the Group are five Bombardier Dash 8 Q400s, operated by regional partner Augsburg Airways, which is shutting down after Lufthansa ends its cooperation with the carrier Oct. 31.
